Kitesurfing
Lessons/Board Starting
Board
starting is easier than it seems. Your body just needs
to get used to the movement as you will be using your
eyes to watch the kite, hands to put the Board on and
steer the kite, your core to hold your posture and your
feet to steer the Board. There is a lot going on here
as well as judging the wind strength so you don't take
off too fast or too slow. After practice your bio mechanical
memory will take over and all these actions will happen
together perfectly.
Hold
the Kite at 12 o'clock with your left hand close to
the lines running through your Bar. Grab your Board
with your right hand keeping your eyes on your kite
put in your left foot then your right and place both
hands back on the Bar. Decide which way you want to
ride. To go to the right take the kite to 11o'clock
then across to 2 o'clock and pull your chest to the
Bar. While you are rising out of the Water point your
leading foot towards your Kite, sit back in your Harness
and ride downwind.
You
will find this easier on one side than the other but
it is important you practice to both sides to be able
to ride out and back to shore. This is an exhilarating
feeling once you get going and are able to ride freely.
you
will be hooked straight away!
