Sandy
Cove Kitesurfing Beach
Sandy
Cove is a nice quiet hidden away Beach. You wouldn't
notice it was there until the North Rebel Kites started
flying. The North Wales Kitesurfing permit gives us 400m
of Beach for our students to learn on. Here we can train
in shallow water due to the Lagoons. As the tide goes
out we get up to 90mins of perfectly flat water to train
in. Awesome fun when the wind is blowing on or cross
shore. Looking out to sea there are wind turbines which
says it all.

The
Beach runs for miles in both directions, so there is
a lot of safe downwind riding capability. The area is
also becoming popular for Buggies and Foil Kite flying.
It
is best to launch Kites whilst the tide is out because
of the pebbles close to the Promenade wall. Whilst Kitesurfing
Lessons are on we do ask Kitesurfers to stick to the
right of the Car Park to avoid any mishaps and to keep
the Beach a safe place for the Students and public and
to avoid over crowding. If you do come down to Kitesurf
whilst Lessons are on feel free to leave your kit at
our North Kiteboarding Flag and we will keep an eye
on it for you. Rescue cover will be available soon on
the weekends for proficient Kitesurfers with valid insurance.
